From January to August, 2024, the cumulative cargo handling capacity of Puerto LázaroCrdenas increased by 9%, compared with the same period a year ago.
Asipona-Lázaro Crdenas of the site reported that it had cleared 28,222,239 tons in the first eight months of this year.
He also explained that the volume of goods handling import traffic was the largest, and 66% of the goods were reported, that is, 13,658,546 tons.

The port administration added that in Michoacano area, the results of deboques care have also become favorable, because between January and August, LázaroCrdenas served 1,139 cars, an increase of 9% compared with 2023.
This week, AsiponaLázaroCrdenas reported the completion of three infrastructure projects, which will improve the operation of port facilities.
It invested 975 million pesos (mdp) to build dosmuelles, one for the coastal area, the other for small boats, and the boulevard leading to the coastal area.
These projects will promote maritime transportation, especially between ports forming part of Tehuantepec Transoceanic Corridor, and will improve the cargo efficiency of ports.
